SchoolHello. I am a non-traditional graduate of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. WKU is one of the top journalism schools in the U.S., placing in the Top 5 anually in the National Hearst Foundation Competition. I earned my B.A. in 2004 in Political Science and Mass Communication. All of my electives are concentrated in the critical writing areas of Philosophy, primarily ethics and theory. I have also completed eighteen hours towards my Masters in Public Administration. I am the consumate politics and news junkie and particularly interested in the social contract theory, the public's right to know, all First Amendment rights, and private sector full employment theories. I worked for twenty years as a clerk and administrative assistant in the private sector for three different Fortune 500 companies, but returned to college as a NAFTA-affected displaced worker to finish my personal calling of becoming a journalist. Along with my affinity for politics, I worked as a news reporter and commercial producer for three years in the 70s. A product of the 60s generation, I have been fortunate enough to see our political system invert and re-define itself more times than one and take a particular critical approach to the current polarization of our society. It seems that the current conventional definitions and the academic definitions do not match and are left open to too much interpretation. I am also an avid sports fan of the Big Three American sports. We all know what they are. I will watch NASCAR, golf, or tennis if I am getting paid to write about them, but I will watch baseball, basketball, and football even when they are out of season. My favorites are the Cardinals, UK Wildcats, and the Indy Colts. And, yes, we have seen better years. I welcome any and all discussion on any topic that you may see on my page and appreciate your time and input. I use it primarily as a writing showcase for employment purposes, but every now and then it becomes a tool of ventilation.
